The First Outdoors
This Sunday sees the first outdoor shoot of 2009. As the field takes a little longer to set out, if possible, would you try to be there a little earlier to help set out and to be ready to shoot on time.
Equipment Day
The equipment day this spring is Saturday 2nd May. For anyone who hasn’t been before, this is the time of year for a spring clean of the container and when we get all of the target bosses ready for the outdoor season. If you can come along your help would be greatly appreciated, meet at the container at 2pm
April 5th 2009
Sam Hall was announced the winner of the Jim Maughan Junior trophy for March. His score being the highest since the trophy began twelve months ago, it was also noted that generally the scores have steadily improved over the months.
Easter Fun Shoot 2009
This year’s fun shoot was the biggest we have ever had. In a keenly fought team competition Holmes’ Harriers were triumphant. Kirsty surprised herself when she came out as top dog with the highest individual score. Following her second place at the recent Albert Crouth Worcester Alex was the top junior. It was great to see so many of our newer members doing well and giving the more experienced archers
a run for their money in shooting the wand, this was finally won by Brett. For the first time, members were invited to produce an Easter bonnet and Jill’s elegant creation was voted the best. As always novelty targets were designed and painted by our junior members and this year honours went to Jack. Congratulations to all the other prize winners and sincere thanks must go to Ann and her team of helpers for organising the excellent buffet.
