May 2009
Quite a crowd turned up for the spring equipment day Saturday 2nd May, getting themselves organised into little groups to get through the many tasks we had to undertake. The bosses were fixed with big target faces and wrapped in cling film to keep the weather at bay, Terry set too finishing off six new target stands, the club bows were checked over and maintained, and all of the club equipment was taken stock of for the insurance company. It is a good time to empty the container give it a sweep out and inspect to see how it is standing up to the elements, the weather was kind enough to get a quick coat of paint on the outside of it as well. A big thanks to everyone that came along.
Sunday 3rd May was the first outdoor session of 2009 and boy was it a baptism of fire. Though it was dry and bright the wind was quite intense which was a bit of a challenge to say the least but it didn’t stop everyone have a good start to the season. The new starters, John (Sam), Kath, Ian, Bridie, James and Sophie were given their certificates after completing the beginners course and shooting plan.
Alex Hall was announced as the winner of the Jim Maughan trophy for April
