Ryton-on-Tyne
Throughout the outdoor season we have the opportunity to shoot for nationally recognised awards and improvements in handicaps. Twice a year ( Christmas & Easter ) we organise novelty shoots,  which are great fun,   and we have our own club member’s competitions in September.
So come and shoot with us, archery is a sport for all.
We are a long established archery club, tracing our history back many years, and have been at our present site  for many years.  We meet every Sunday at  at 1:00pm  -  during the spring and summer shooting outdoors at distances from 30yds up to 100yds, then moving indoors for the autumn and winter to shoot at 20yds.
The most popular bows used at the club today are Target Recurve & English Longbow with some of the members occasionally shooting other traditional bows.
As a club we abide by and follow the current guidelines on protection of children and vulnerable adults.  All our coaching staff are CRB checked and we have two child and vulnerable adult protection officers within the club.

When starting out there is no way of  knowing  how seriously you will take archery as an activity. The members of the club have a range of abilities  Some  become very enthusiastic and achieve very high competitive standards,  whereas others  are quite happy to come along and enjoy their hobby in a friendly atmosphere, having no desire to compete at any level
